It's been a fantastic year! The kids have grown so much and are now all ready to soar into first grade. Today was our last chance to be together as a class, and we were blessed with blue skies and sunshine--perfect weather for one final recess on the playground as kindergarteners. We played and picnicked and played some more. Mrs. Cathy wants us all to have a ball this summer, so we ended the year with some dance party music and balls in the hall. Happy summer to all!

Field Trips and All That Jazz
This week we studied Louisiana, and the children got a sample of some of the things that make our state unique. Mrs. Cathy brought them beignets, boudin balls, jambalaya, and pralines. On Thursday we listened to a jazz ensemble led by Mr. Bramley, our high school band director.
The class had an exciting day Friday at the Baton Rouge River Center where we watched a performance of Disney on Ice.
And, of course, our days are filled with more than just eating and entertainment. Our time was also spent on praying, reading, practicing sight words, building 2D and 3D shapes with marshmallows and toothpicks, doing crafts, and, well just.... LEARNING.
