Big Friends

On Thursday we had a visit from our high school Big Friends who assisted in an art project. Our little friends love the attention.

Noah's Ark Day

In keeping with the Homecoming Safari theme, and to go along with our Bible lesson, on Wednesday we had Noah's Ark Day.  Here are photos of some of the wildlife sighted on campus before boarding the ark.

Icy Habitats

We're building an icy Antarctic habitat for these penguins.
"And who do you think is the father of rain and dew, the mother of ice and frost. You don't for a minute imagine these marvels of weather just happen, do you?" Job 38:28-30 MSG

The kindergartners have been learning about ice and snow and about the Arctic and the Antarctic. They're studying about the animals that live in the frigid regions of the Arctic and the Antarctic, and they're learning how these animals' bodies are designed to thrive in their icy environments.

As we study the amazingly intricate way that living things grow and thrive on earth, we can't help but praise our wonderful Creator.

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." Romans 1:20
A layer of blubber helps animals such as seals stay warm when they swim in icy water.

We're building igloos, like the snow houses built by people in the Arctic regions of Canada.

We built a train. Is it the Polar Express?

Homecoming

I am Parkview! These are some of the faces of Parkview Baptist School awaiting the Homecoming Parade.  Anticipation grew as the parade approached, then finally... the flashing blue lights appeared at the end of Parkview Church Road. Some of the kids high-fived the officers on motorcycles. Then they got down to the business of catching beads, cups, T-shirts and footballs thrown from the floats. The kids were thrilled to see football players, cheerleaders, steppers, band and flag team marching. They could barely contain their excitement when they saw Mrs. Cathy riding by in the "Beauty Queens"
golf-cart. Of course, Mrs. Cathy had lots of goodies for her Early Childhood friends. The little ones loved seeing celebrities such as Mrs. Reid, Coach B.J., and even some of their own classmates riding in the parade.
To quote one of the kindergartners, "This was the funnest day."

Homecoming Fun----Tacky Tourist Day and Pajama Day

Sisters!
We're going to the beach!

Disney World!

Safari-bound!
Our kindergarten kids know how to travel!  Here they are dressed for adventure.  Even the teacher dressed-up---I had no trouble finding Tacky Tourist clothes in my closet. And yes, I had a fanny pack. (I can't believe I kept that!)

Here's our not-so-sleepy crew on Pajama Day.  I didn't dress up for that one; wearing PJ's makes me feel lazy and lethargic, and I figured I'd need lots of energy to keep up with this bunch.

Bible Buddies

This morning we had a surprise visit from our Bible Buddies, Middle School boys in Mr. Brown's class. (Well, it was a surprise because we didn't get the memo saying that they were coming today, but from now on we'll expect them to come to our class once a month to interact with our kindergarten students.)  The older students paired up with our younger ones, and as you can see from the photos, some interesting and thought-provoking conversations took place.
