Aloha

In Hawaii, the word  "Aloha" is used for a greeting and a farewell. So its fitting that at the end of the school year, we say "aloha"-----goodbye to good times in kindergarten, farewell to our friends as we go our separate ways to spend time with our families. We say aloha---hello--- to summertime fun. We say aloha to new classes and new adventures that await us in the coming school year---new friends to greet, new challenges to meet, new goals to complete.

I read that aloha has a deeper meaning; it's the Hawaiian word for love, affection, mercy, compassion, peace, "to love things unconditionally."

I hate goodbyes, so I'm saying aloha to this sweet group of kids that I've grown to love.

"Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord: rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation continuing steadfastly in prayer; contributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. " Romans 12:9-13
