The story of Noah’s Ark has so many lessons for us… God’s grief
over the evil in mankind, God’s lovingkindness that led Him to provide a means
of salvation for those who trusted Him, Noah’s steadfast obedience to God when
everyone around him was corrupt and violent.
But the story ends on an encouraging note as God put his
rainbow in the sky to remind Noah of His promise: He will never again flood the
whole earth.
Rainbows occur when light is reflected, refracted, and
dispersed as it passes through raindrops. And so it is in our lives, through
seasons of raindrops or teardrops, if we allow God to shine the light of His
love into our lives, He produces something beautiful. He sends us reminders of
His faithfulness and hope for the future.
In chapel the kids sang, “The rainbow’s in the sky to show
God’s promises are true. The rainbow’s in the sky to show the world He’s the
only way…each and every day.”
Noah’s Ark day was a lot of fun for the kids, and hopefully
the crafts and songs will remind them (and us adults, too) that God keeps His
promises.
"Two by two, two by two.
God showed mercy to Noah and his crew.
Two by two, two by two.
He's doing just the same for me and you!"
